Medicare Better Access

Medicare rebates are available for psychological services upon referral by a general practitioner, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician who has completed a Mental Health Care Plan. Under this scheme you are eligible to receive rebates for up to 10 therapy sessions per calendar year.

Video-conferencing is one of the main ways in which telehealth is improving access to healthcare services for patients who live in regional, rural and remote areas. Instead of having to travel to the nearest major city to see a Psychologist, an increasing number of patients are using video-conferencing.
